One of my “things” when I talk about color is I love to reference the box of crayons everyone had as a kid. I still keep a box on my desk and even occasionally use them, but crayola seems to have a far more commonly accepted naming convention than pantone, prismacolor, or whatnot else. Pretty much everyone knows what color midnight blue is, even if they claim only designers have names for colors beyond the primaries. Though I admit… I would not have known “Razzmatazz” was a nearly neon purpley-red. I guess I’m starting to show my Crayola-relative age.
